‘’Essentials of Successful Negotiation’’
WWNG Seminar
May 28, 2011
with facilitator Ellen Francois-Jacobs

Seminar description

Does the word ‘negotiation’ make you shudder? Does it conjure images of being holed up in a small office with a used car salesman? Is so, you’re not alone. Whether it’s buying a car, discussing a compensation package with a prospective employer or a trying to convince your husband to go to the movies instead of staying at home to watch TV, many of us feel that we lack the ability so be successful negotiators.

But nothing could be further from the truth. You have been negotiating your entire life! Whether it was getting Mom and Dad to extend your curfew when you were a teenager, or convincing your spouse to take a vacation by the sea instead of in the mountains, you have negotiated virtually every day of your life, many times a day.

During this workshop we’re going to put some structure to this process. You’re going to learn the ‘’game’’, the strategies, and how to come away with a win/win outcome where everyone is satisfied. You’ll even learn some funny new vocabulary.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with the other participants to prepare a negotiation simulation, and then actually negotiate with another person.  Afterward, we’ll discuss what went right, what went wrong, and how you can do better next time.

We can’t promise that you’ll be a world-class negotiator by the end of the day. But we can assure you of one thing…when the workshop is over, you’ll wish it weren’t.

So please join us on May 28th as we unveil the ‘’Essentials of Successful Negotiation’’.
